Macintosh Installation
Follow these steps to install the driver software (depending on the Mac OS version
installed in your computer) and connect the
Que! USB Floppy Disk Drive to
your Apple iMac, iBook, G3, or G4 computer.
1.
Insert the CD-ROM that contains the driver software into the CD-ROM
drive of your Macintosh computer.
2.
Double-click the CD-ROM icon on the computer’s desktop.
The system displays the contents of the CD-ROM in a new window.
3.
Double-click the USB FD driver icon in the window, and follow the
instructions that appear on screen.
4.
When the installation is complete, restart your Macintosh.
5.
With the system turned on, insert the USB interface cable that extends
from the rear panel of the drive into the USB port on your Macintosh.
6. Insert a formatted floppy disk into the
Que! USB Floppy Disk Drive.
A floppy disk icon appears on your computer’s desktop.
Inserting Floppy Disks (Macintosh only)
When you insert a formatted floppy disk into the
Que! USB Floppy Disk
Drive, the computer displays an icon representing a floppy disk. (If the floppy disk
is not formatted, the system displays an “Initialize” dialog box.)
Ejecting Floppy Disks (Macintosh only)
To eject a floppy disk, follow these steps:
1.
Click the floppy disk icon once to highlight the icon.
2.
Select “Eject” from the “Special” menu, or “Put Away” from the “File”
menu. (Alternatively, you can drag the floppy disk icon to the Trash.)
3.
Wait for the green light (status indicator LED) on the front panel of the
Que! USB Floppy
Disk Drive to turn off.
4. Push the Eject button on the front panel of the
Que! USB Floppy Disk
Drive to eject the floppy disk.
Note:
If you have Mac OS 8.6, do not install the Que! driver. Instead, download and install
the USB Mass Storage Support Driver, Version 1.3.5 from
http://asu.info.apple.com/
swupdates.nsf/artnum/n11418
, then continue with step 5 below.
If you have Mac OS 9.0 or higher, do not install the Que! driver. The required driver is
already embedded within the Mac OS. Go to step 5 below.
Note: To perform an alternative “manual” installation, copy (drag-and-drop) the file
named “USB FD driver” to the Extensions folder in the System folder.
Warning: Do not attempt to remove a floppy disk while the green light is on or you
may damage the floppy disk or the floppy disk drive.
