Thefollowingpartsmayberemoved:
The following modifications of factory-built fireplaces are
permissible:

Thefireplacemustnotbealtered.Cuttinganysheetmetal
partsofthefireplaceinwhichthefireplaceinsertistobe
installed is prohibited perANSI Z21.88 except that the
dampermayberemovedtoaccommodateadirect-connect
starter pipe or chimney liner,

xternaltrimpieceswhichdonotaffecttheoperationof
thefireplacemayberemovedprovidingtheycanbestored
onorwithinthefireplaceforreassemblyiftheinsertis
removed.
•
The permanent metal warning label provided in the
component pack must be attached to the back of the
fireplace,withscrewsornails,statingthatthefireplacemay
havebeenalteredtoaccommodatetheinsert,andmust
bereturnedtooriginalconditionforuseasaconventional
fireplace.

NOTE: Refer to chimney liner manufacturer for recom-
mendations on supporting the liner. Installation into
fireplaceswithoutapermitwillvoidthelisting.
