PHYSIOlOgIcal EQUalIzER (lOUDNESS)
Human hearing is less sensitive to low and high frequency sound at low volumes. By turning on the lOUD function, the automatic EQ compensates for this phenomenon at lower volumes. It is recommended to be
turned off at higher volumes because it can cause the sound to be distorted.
• For the benefit of better sound quality, before using this function, we recommend selecting the setting EQ OFF and setting the bass and treble controls to “0”.
• The larger the volume, the less effect of automatic loudness correction will have on the sound.

• A total of 18 FM and 12 AM radio stations can be stored. By repeatedly pressing the BAND button select an option from among FM1-FM2-FM3 or AM1-AM2. Six stations can be stored for each band. If you chosen the 4th
place of band FM2 by storing, later on band FM2 will need to be selected first (BAND) and then press the 4 number key.
• After pressing AMS briefly, INTRO label will appear and a little part of broadcasting from all stored frequency will be audible for a few seconds. Introduction function can be switch off with repeated press of AMS.
• If a given place for storing is in use, its content will be erased and a new station frequency will be stored.
• In case of the transmission can be received in adequate quality, the STEREO (double circle) symbol will be indicated on the display. When the reception is noisy because of weak receiving conditions, choose the MONO setting.
Set the ST OFF mode with the rotating knob and STEREO signal will go out.
• In case of weak receiving conditions, switch off LOC (local, strong reception) function, by rotating and pressing the rotating knob repeatedly.
• If the unit is being used at a distance from the original tuned location – such as when travelling – the same station might have to be tuned in again on a different frequency. The same program is broadcast on different
frequencies in different geographical locations! This inconvenience can be avoided if the station being listened to features RDS function and you activate the RDS AF (Alternate frequency) feature on your unit. Further
information about RDS function is written further down.

Keep the aMS button pressed for 2 seconds to automatically search (ScaN) for and store the radio stations available in the current area. Tuning and storage progress can be monitored on the display. Each receivable
frequency is checked on FM1-FM2-FM3 or AM1-AM2 band. The better the conditions for reception, the more stations will be found.
• After the tuning has finished, the INTRO label will appear, and a few seconds broadcasting will be audible from the each stored radio station. Introduction function can be switch off with repeated press of AMS.

SElEctION OF StORED RaDIO StatIONS
Use the BaND button to select the desired band (e.g., FM1) then using buttons 1-6 number keys choose desired broadcast. A total of 18 FM and 12 AM radio stations can be stored.
• If too much time passes between button presses, the device reverts to its previous state.
• When the ST icon is not displayed while recieving a stereo station, then the reception conditions are probably poor, or the antenna is not appropriate.
FM RDS FUNctIONS
The Radio Data System is used to transmit digitalis information in FM radio broadcasts. This textual information is displayed on radio displays if the broadcasting station and the receiver have this RDS function and it
has been activated. Such information includes for example the name of the radio station, the program type, etc., which varies depending on the station and radio. Apart from the display of textual information extra
services are also generally accessible. They include the following in the case of this radio:
• PS – program service (displays the radio station’s name in up to 8 characters at a time. Operates continuously as basic RDS function).
• aF – alternate frequency (if the current station can be received on another frequency in better quality, the unit automatically switches over to that frequency; this is useful when travelling because the unit searches
for a station broadcasting the same program with a stronger signal).
• tP – Radio stations marked TP regularly broadcast traffic information. Operates continuously as basic RDS function.
• ta – the active TA function allows traffic and road information announcements to be heard. When an announcement is received the text TRAFFIC will appear on the display. If music or a movie is being played back
from a USB/microSD or Bluetooth source, it will pause during the announcement then playback will continue.
• PtY – program type (radio station identification according to predefined genre). It is possible to search for broadcast with specific content, for example. news, classical music, pop music…
SWItcHINg ON aND OFF FM RDS FUNctIONS
The PS and tv services will always work when the radio station provides this. Other RDS functions can be switched on or off individually. Indications of currently active functions are visible on the display. Keep holding
the SElEctOR rotating knob for 2 seconds by listening to FM RDS radio station. PtY, aF, ta label will appear at the bottom line of the display. By rotating the SElEctOR knob, select the function to be modified, press
the knob in, and by rotation switch on or off the function, and then press it again to store the new setting.
• Device will start searching for the selected PTY programme type automatically after 3 seconds. If there is any programme found which meets the settings in the reception area, then it will switch to that broadcast.
• PTY NONE: there is no programme type information available.
• Occasionally, you may find that certain characters appear incorrectly or not at all. This is mainly affected on the special or accented characters and not the fault of the device.
