Appendix C: Recommended procedure for first time user
The following steps were designed for first time users.
Step 1: Select “AG1000-01 (8/4)” option in a popup AG Model. Click on “OK” button to move to the
GUI main screen with the “AG1000 8 IN 4 OUT mode”.
Step 2: To insert commonly used hand phone number, in the “Handphone List” tab, key-in a number
with +
the List. Repeat this step for each number.
Step 3: To insert/edit a hand phone number and a delay to the next number, into one of 8 available
groups, click on “Group List” tab. Tick a group to choose it. Select a hand phone number by
highlighting it in the most left list. Slide the Delay slider bar to a delay value. Select the row position to
insert/edit in the group hand phone numbers list. Click on “Insert to Group” button. Repeat this step for
each number for the group. Each group may host up to 10 hand phone numbers.
Step 4: To modify one of 12 points (8 IN 4 OUT) information, click on “Point List” tab. Tick a point to
choose it. Change the point status (enable: yes or no), alarm logic, contact group, reminder delay,
point/device name, alarm on message, and alarm off (back to normal) message of the point. Repeat this
step for each point.
Step 5: To establish a TCP connection to the gateway, please make sure that the gateway is on and a
network cable is bridging it to the PC running this Configuration Editor application. Click on
“Communication” tab. Type-in the followings into the text boxes (if the default ones are still
maintained).

Click on “Connect” button to trigger the connection. On establishing, it will authenticate user by
prompting for the password. Type-in iosms (if the default one is still maintained) and click on “OK”
button.
Step 6: To set-up or to write the configuration of groups and points (from steps 3 and 4) to the
gateway, user may simply click on “Write” button in the “Communication” tab after step 5 successful
connection above, and wait until all 8 groups and 12 points writings have been informed in the progress
box.
Step 7: To get or retrieve the groups and points set-up in step 6 above, user may click on “Read” button
in the “Communication” tab after step 5 successful connection, and wait until all 8 groups and 12 points
setting readings have been informed in the progress box. The setting-up can be viewed and edited in the
“Group List” and “Point List” tabs after the retrieving.
