Belt tension check
Alternator belt
b
Loosen the fi xing screws (
1) and move the alternator
outwards so that the belt is taut enough.
b
Tighten the fi xing screws.
b
The belt is taut enough when there is defl ection of
15 to
20 mm between the pulleys when applying reasonable
pressure with the thumb. A loose, worn or greasy belt must
be replaced
Note: Always keep a spare belt on hand.
