Using Hard Disk Drives
The hard disk drives are located in the device area on the right side of the unit front.
The working status of each hard disk drive installed on your system is given through two
LEDs (green and amber lights) that are visible looking at the front of the system.
The meaning of the led status depends on your disk configuration. If the disk belongs to a
RAID array, the amber LED light on and steady indicates a fault condition, the green LED
light indicates disk activity.
If the disk does not belong to a RAID array, the amber led is not meaningful and the green
LED indicates if the disk is powered on (green LED light on and steady) or is powered off
(green LED light off).
Open the device shutter by turning the device shutter key to the right, to access the hard
disks.
Note:
If you need to install or remove the disk devices, refer respectively to
Hard Disk
Drive Upgrading
or
Hard Disk Drive Removal
, in the
Upgrading the System
manual.
