paint preparation
Make sure the paint is thoroughly stirred.
1.
Check the paint manufacturer’s recommendations to see if the paint needs to be thinned when used in an
2.
airless spray system.
If you are using old or dirty or poor quality paint, strain the paint through a filter bag or screen that is
3.
between 50 and 70 mesh.
Fill the paint tank with the desired amount of paint.
4.
To prevent the paint from forming a skin on it, float a compatible solvent on top of the paint.
5.
The extra time spent in quality control when loading the paint will prevent many problems while you are striping.
pre-start up procedure
Engage the parking brake when the unit is parked.
Check fluid levels on the engine, the hydraulic oil reservoir, and the air compressor. There is a dipstick for
1.
measuring the engine oil level. There are sight level gauges for viewing the oil level in the hydraulic tank
and the air compressor. See the Service section of this manual for proper levels and for the correct
fluids to use.
Fill the cup on the HP paint pump with Throat Seal Liquid (TSL). The cup is located in the pump block on
2.
the lower section of the pump. (See Pg. 11)
Make sure the ground chain or strap is in contact with the ground. Strap is located on the left side of the
3.
machine below the engine.
Turn the Hydraulic Oil Supply Valve to the off position with the handle perpendicular to the valve body.
4.
Turn the System Pressure Adjusting Bolt on the hydraulic pump counterclockwise (out). This to reduce the
5.
load on the engine when starting the engine. The hex nut on this screw will need to be loosened in order
to turn the adjusting screw.
The Bleeder Line Valve, located by the high pressure paint filter, may also be opened (turned out).
