• TUBE MAINTENANCE •
Your new Fender® amplifier comes equipped with the highest
quality tubes available, designed and tested for use in the
demanding world of musical instrument amplification. In
most critical applications, we select Groove Tubes® preamp
and performance-matched power tube sets.
CAUTION, SHOCK HAZARD: To replace the power tubes please contact
an authorized service center for this periodic maintenance. Removing
the back panel exposes dangerous high voltage components and is not
a user-serviceable procedure.
When replacing power tube sets with the same rating and type of Groove
Tubes, no adjustment should be needed. When tweaking the performance
characteristics of your amplifier with a different power tube set, you
should have a qualified service technician re-bias your amp to meet the
optimum performance specifications for the new tubes.
In the future, if you experience any sonic performance issues with your
amp, or have further questions concerning the tubes in your amplifier,
please contact your Fender dealer or authorized service center.
Additional information concerning specific tube types, characteristics and
performance may be found at

I.
ELECTRIC LINE CORD—Connect to a grounded A/C outlet in
accordance with the voltage and frequency ratings specified
for your amplifier.
J. MAIN SPEAKER JACK—Plug-in connection for the 8Ω main
speaker (the internal speaker on the combo unit is 8Ω). When
using only the main speaker jack, a speaker impedance load of
8Ω minimum must be used to avoid distortion and damage to
the amplifier.
!
A speaker must ALWAYS be connected to this jack when
POWER is switched "ON" to avoid possible damage to the
amplifier. Switch POWER to the "OFF" position while chang-
ing speaker connections.
K. EXTENSION SPEAKER JACK—Plug-in connection for an ex-
tension speaker. This jack is wired in parallel with the MAIN
SPEAKER jack {J} and affects the total speaker impedance load.
Use 8Ω minimum total. To use this jack, connect a 16Ω speaker
to the MAIN SPEAKER jack and another 16Ω speaker to the EX-
TENSION SPEAKER jack (two 16Ω speakers = 8Ω total). Remove
the rubber plug to use this jack on the head unit; reinstall plug
when jack is no longer in use.
