2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
In this operator's guide the following symbols are used:
Read instructions carefully
In accordance with essential applicable safety standards of European directives
Class II machine – Double insulation – You don’t need any earthed plug.
Denotes risk of personal injury, loss of life or damage to the tool in case of non-
observance of the instructions in this manual.
Indicates electrical shock hazard.
Immediately unplug the plug from the mains electricity in the case that the cord
gets damaged and during maintenance
Wear ear and eye protection
Faulty and/or discarded electrical or electronic apparatus have to be collected at
the appropriate recycling locations.
Special safety instructions
•
Wear a hard safety helmet, safety glasses and/or face shield. It is also highly
recommended that you wear a dust mask, ear protectors and thickly padded gloves.
•
Be sure the bit is secured in place before operation.
•
Under normal operation, the tool is designed to produce vibration. Check tightness of
screws carefully before operation to avoid a breakdown or accident.
•
In cold weather or when the tool has not been used for a long time, let the tool warm up for
several minutes by operating it under no load. This will loosen up the lubrication. Without
proper warm-up hammering operation is difficult.
•
Always be sure you have firm footing. Be sure no one is below when using the tool in high
locations.
•
Hold the tool firmly with both hands.
•
Keep hands away from moving parts.
•
Do not point the tool at any one in the area when operating. The bit could fly out and injure
someone seriously.
