cuttingbladecollideswithasolidobjectwiththeconsequent
breakageofbladebushingpins(fig.9).Themowerwillthen
starttovibrateabnormally.
Inordertoavoidseveredamagestoyourlawnmower,imme-
diatelystoptheenginewhentheabovementionedsituation
takesplace.
Waituntilthemovingpartshavecompletelystopped,discon-
nectthehightensionwirefromthesparkplugandreplacethe
bladebushing.
MAINTENANCE
ATTENTION: Never service or repair the mower until the
blade and the engine have stopped and you have discon-
nected the high tension wire from the spark plug.

Pleasefollowtheinstructionscontainedintheenclosedman-
ualsuppliedbyenginemanufacturer.
Adjusting the traction cable (Fig. 10)
Afterseveralhoursofinitialuse,thetractioncablemayslacken
impairingtraction.
Ifthisoccurs,adjustthecableasdescribedbelow.
Turntheringnutshowninfigure10inthedirectionindicated
by the arrow. This eliminates slack and re-establishes opti-
mumworkingorder.
Itisnowpossibletotightencableslackbymovementonthe
adjuster.
Yourmoweriscorrectlyadjustedwhentractionengageswhen
thereis30mmbetweenthetractionleverandthehandlebar.
Crankcase oil change
1.Placethemoweronaflatsurface.
2.Starttheengineandletitrunforaboutaminutesothatoil
flowsbetter.Turnoffengine.
3.Disconnectthehightensionwirefromthesparkplug.
4.Removethegrassbag.
5.Drainthefueltankinordertoavoidpossiblespillageand
accidents(see“Drainageofthefueltank”).
6.Tipmoweronitsleftsideandunscrewthedrainageplug
under the engine. Empty the crankcase, allowing the oil to
flowintoasuitabletray.
7.Whenthecrankcaseiscompletelyempty,fillthecrankcase
withcleanSAE10W-30oil(0,6l).
NOTE: Please refer to local regulations for correct disposal of
burnt engine oil.
Drainage of the fuel tank
1.Stoptheengineanddisconnectthehightensionwirefrom
sparkplug.
2.Unscrewthefueltankcap.
3.Usingasiphon,pumpthepetrolfromthetankintoasuit-
ablecontainer.
Blade inspection
The frequency of blade inspection depends on the working
conditions.
1.Makesurethattheengineisnotrunningandthehighwire
isdisconnectedfromthesparkplug.
2. Drain petrol from the fuel tank (see“Drainage of the fuel
tank”).
3.Tipmoweronitsleftside.Avoidrotatingthebladewhenthe
moweristippedbecausestartingproblemsmayresult.
4.Carefullyexaminetheblade:
a)Ifthecuttingedgehasbecomeroundeditmustbesharp-
ened.
b)Checkwheretheflatandcurvedpartsmeetand,ifthereare
anycracksorsignsofwearreplacethebladeimmediately.
ATTENTION: A worn or cracked blade can easily break dur-
ing use or pieces may break off, resulting in serious injury to
yourself or a bystander.
Sharpening or replacing the cutter blade
1.Turntheengineoffanddisconnectthehightensionwire
fromthesparkplug.
2. Drain fuel from the fuel tank (see “Drainage of the fuel
tank”).
3.Tipmoweronitsleftside.Avoidrotatingthebladewhenthe
moweristippedupbecausestartingproblemsmayresult.
4.Holdthebladefirmlywithaglovedhandand,usingaspan-
ner,unscrewtheboltandwasher.
5.Removethebladeinordertosharpenorreplaceit.
6.Usingaflatfile,sharpenthetopsideofblade,maintaining
theoriginalcuttingangle.Thebladewillremainbalancedif
the same amount of material is removed from both cutting
edges.
7.Checkthebalanceofthebladebyusingabladebalancer.
Anunbalancedbladewillleanonitsheavierside.Iftheblade
is not balanced fi!e more metal off the cutting edge of the
heavysideandcheckthebalanceagain.
8.Installasharp,balancedblade,followingtheaboveproce-
dureinreversesequence(seepoints4and5).
9.Tightenthebladeboltto5,5Kgm.
NOTE: A blade balancer may be purchased at any good hard-
ware shop.
In order to obtain best possible cutting results, we recom-
mend that you replace the blade annually in addition to
sharpening it whenever necessary.
Cleaning the mower deck
To achieve optimum cutting results and effective collection,
theundersideofthemowerdeckandthegrassdischargearea
mustbekeptclean.
Thesemodelsfeatureaspecialdevicethatallowsyoutoclean
themachinesimplyandquicklyusinganormalgardenhose.
1.Fityourfemalequick-releaseconnectorontothemalecon-
nectoronthemowerbody,aftermakingsuretheconnectoris
freefromanygrassresidue.
NOTE: Make sure that the hose is not trapped under the
body.
2.TurnthewaterON.
3.SwitchONyourmowerfollowingtheinstructionsdescribed
inthecorrespondingsection.
4.Keepthesafetyleverpressedanddonottouchthetraction
handle.
5.Allowthemachinetowork“inneutral”forseveralminutes.
Grassresidueswillbedetachedduetothecombinedactionof
thewaterjetandblademovement,leavingtheinternalparts
ofthebodyperfectlyclean.
6. After cleaning, switch OFF the engine, detach the water
hoseandallowyourperfectlycleanlawnmowertodry.
