status and mute information as well as fault and
warning indication.
the layout of display “pages” is structured for ease
of use. in most cases, the left-hand column of four
blocks refers to input status while the right-hand
column refers to the amplifier outputs. Data can be
in alphanumeric form or shown as bargraph meters,
depending on current display mode.
the display is protected by a tough plastic film. Clean
the display with a soft cloth; do not use solvents as
they may attack the plastic.
the display can be dimmed along with the high
intensity white LED via the Frame page in the
Main menu.

interface).
Standby
the PLM Series is powered on and off by the top
left button, StanDBY. See sections 5.3.1 and 5.7 of
the Dolby Lake Controller user Manual PLM Edition
addendum for further information regarding local and
remote power control.
Mute Enable
Select MutE EnaBLE to allow muting of the inputs
to the Dolby Lake system, the power output chan-
nels, or both via this soft function button. the MutE
EnaBLE legend in the button flashes when the mode
is selected. a second press will deselect the mode;
however, if left active, MutE EnaBLE mode will

the PLM’s front panel is based around a 2.5” daylight-
readable backlit liquid crystal display (LCD), through
which control and monitoring of most functions
are performed via a simple menu system. Controls
are grouped in two switch clusters alongside the
display; these include dedicated function keys (such
as MEtER and MEnu), eight “soft” keys (functions
vary according to the current display page), and a
data entry wheel
(rotary encoder).
handles
always use the handles when carrying the PLM,
and when fitting it into or removing it from a rack.
Ensure that any door or removable rack front cover
has sufficient depth to clear the handles.
dust filters
two dust filters are fitted behind metal covers. to
remove the covers, loosen the thumbscrews located
behind the handles. once detached, the dust filter
elements can be removed for cleaning. See section
12.2 of the PLM Series operation Manual for informa-
tion on cleaning the dust filters.
the device never should be operated without
the dust filters in place.
display
the display illuminates with the PLM is active. a
simple set of on-screen pages enables monitoring
and control of PLM operating parameters. Functions
are controlled with the eight “soft keys” in conjunc-
tion with the rotary encoder knob. tri-color LEDs
embedded in the soft keys provide both operating
