Gearbox Vented Dipstick
Refer to Figure 1-1:
A vented dipstick is shipped loose and packaged with the
Operator’s Manual. Remove temporary solid plug from
top of gearbox and replace with vented dipstick. See your
nearest Land Pride dealer if dipstick is missing.

3-Point Hitch & Tailwheel Assembly
Refer to Figure 1-2 on page 9:
1.
Bushings (#4) are zip tied to top hitch (#19).
2.
Snap ring (#6) is shipped stored on clevis pin (#18).
Remove hairpin cotter (#16), clevis pin (#18), and
snap ring (#6).
3.
Reattach clevis pin (#18) to A-frames (#2) with
hairpin cotter (#16). Keep snap ring (#6) for driveline
assembly.
4.
Remove flat washers (#14) and lock nuts (#12) from
bolts (#7A).
5.
Reattach A-frames (#2) with 5/8"-11 x 2" GR5
bolts (#7A), bushings (#4), flat washers (#14), and
lock nuts (#12). Tighten lock nuts (#12).
6.
Unbolt short crossbar of tailwheel A-frame (#1) from
adjusting bracket.
7.
Attach A-frame (#1) and 11/16" diameter holes in rear
brace bars (#3) to the rear deck lugs as shown using
5/8"-11 x 2" GR5 bolts (#7B) and hex flange lock nuts
(#12). Draw lock nuts up snug and then back off 1/4
turn.
IMPORTANT:
Rotary Cutters are shipped with aÂ
solid plug in the gearbox to prevent loss of oil duringÂ
shipping and handling. The solid plug on top of theÂ
gearbox must be replaced with a vented dipstick. DoÂ
not operate cutter without vented dipstick installed.

the range noted below. Tractors outside the horsepowerÂ
range must not be used.

WARNING
Front tractor weights and/or ballast to tires may be requiredÂ
to offset weight of implement. Consult your tractor manual toÂ
determine if additional ballast is required.

Uncrating Instructions
!
WARNING
Always secure cutter with an overhead crane, fork lift, orÂ
other suitable lifting device before removing hardware bags,Â
shipping components, bands, lag screws, and hitch pins. TheÂ
cutter can suddenly fall causing serious injury or death.
1.
Secure cutter with a hoist or other lifting deviceÂ
before removing shipping hardware.
2.
Cut shipping straps securing driveline and hitchÂ
straps (#5) to the shipping crate. Remove drivelineÂ
from shipping crate and lay gently hitch straps downÂ
onto the shipping crate.
3.
5-pack only:
 Remove bar at the top connecting thisÂ
cutter to other cutters. Be sure to replace the bolts inÂ
the cutter and to tighten it to the correct torque.Â
4.
Remove lag screws securing front face of cutter toÂ
the crate.
5.
Using lifting device, remove tension on hitch pinsÂ
securing clevis plates to shipping crate.
6.
Remove hitch pins from clevis plates and lift cutterÂ
from shipping crate.
7.
Gently lower cutter onto the working area. Be carefulÂ
not to allow hitch straps (#5) to fall onto the plasticÂ
manual tube.
NOTE:Â Â
When lowering cutter onto the working area,Â
keep hitch straps (#5) from falling onto the manualÂ
tube and breaking the tube.
