VIDEO SETUP MENU
TV DISPLAY
Select [4:3 Pan Scan] or [4:3 Letter Box] when a standard 4:3 TV is
connected.
4:3 Letter Box : Displays a wide picture with bands on the upper and
lower portions of the screen.
4:3 Pan Scan :Automatically displays the wide picture on the entire
screen and cuts off the portions that do not fit.
16:9 : Select when a 16:9 wide TV is connected.
TV TYPE
You can select either [PAL] or [NTSC] to force the output of the T 535 to the
desired format. For example one can load a PAL media and display it in the
NTSC format. Similarly one can load an NTSC media and display it in the PAL
format.
Depending on the type of TV set you own, select the signal mode you
wish to watch your disc. The default is PAL for Europe and NTSC for North
America.

BLACK LEVEL (NORTH AMERICA ONLY)
At NTSC mode, color contrast during playback can be improved by setting
the black level to [ON].
On : Select to enhance the black level.
Off : Select for the standard black level setting.

CLOSED CAPTION
Some specific discs have hidden data in the video signals. Closed caption
enables such data visible even in the absence of a special decoder.
Subtitles and captions are closely similar - with the subtitles intended for
hearing persons and captions for the hearing impaired. Captions show
sound effects like “phone ringing” and “footsteps” while subtitles rarely show
all of the audio. Closed caption is applicable if the disc contains closed
caption information and your TV/monitor also supports this function.
On : Enable closed caption function.
Off : Disable closed caption function.

STILL MODE
Still mode enhances viewing of a clear still-image when video playback is
paused.
Field : Standard still mode setting and is suitable for playback of quick
motion scenes.
Frame : Select if picture is unstable at [Field] mode.
PROGRESSIVE SCAN
If your television is a high-definition or “digital ready” television, you may take
advantage of the T 535’s progressive scan output for the highest video resolution
possible. Progressive scan is applicable only at component video out.
On : Enable Progressive Scan mode. Select [Yes] when the confirmation
screen appears.
Off : Select to maintain normal Component Video Output (Interlaced).
