You can manually set the IP address from
either the SNC Toolbox or from the
Administrator menus.
Open the toolbox and click on the camera
to which you want to assign a new IP
address in the list.
The network settings for the selected
camera are displayed. Generally, the IP
address and DNS settings are obtained
automatically from a DHCP server.
Camera operations behind and through a
firewall may require that static IP
addresses be assigned. Consult your
Network Administrator for the proper
network settings.
To specify the IP address manually:
Select “Use the following IP address,” and
enter the IP address, Subnet mask and
Default gateway in the relevant boxes.
Select “Use the following DNS server
address” and type the Primary DNS server
address and Secondary DNS server
address in the relevant boxes.

4.3 C
ONFIGURING THE

AMERA
The camera has an extensive set of
features that far exceeds those necessary
for underwater applications. In the next few
sections, only a small sample of these
features are described. (See Sony User
Manual for a complete discussion.)
The camera can be remotely administered
to configure a wide range of operations.
Camera features include: image size,
frame rate, codec type, image orientation,
exposure, brightness, and white balance.
The camera has the ability to program its
movements and provide different types of
access to its users. Pre-selected positions
and zoom powers can be arranged into
camera tours permitting several areas to
be monitored on schedule.
To change any of the camera settings, first
select Setup from the top menu.
Administrator login with password is
required.
4.3.1 Video Settings
The camera settings “Camera/Video
Codec” tab is used to set either H.264,
MPEG4 or Motion-JPEG video
transmission. The default images size can
be set although the user can change the
image size.
With adequate light, processing power and
bandwidth, Motion-JPEG and
H.264/MPEG4 both produce sharp images
with smooth motion. When light is reduced,
Motion-JPEG video retains a high quality
image but reduces the bandwidth by
