Avoiding flooding and the “anti-flooding” tank position
Like any cartomizer system, the Odyssey Tank™ can suffer from flooding, where the
central hole fills with fluid. This is most often caused by drawing too hard on the
mouthpiece. A well-flooded cartomizer will need to be removed from the battery to be
cleared. After unscrewing from the battery, hold the tank in your fist and press firmly
down on the mouthpiece with your thumb. The tank will click up to obscure the feed-
holes, preventing any more fluid getting drawn into the cartomizer. Above a piece
of tissue, blow very gently on the mouthpiece to clear excess fluid from the central
tube. Reinstall the tank assembly and continue to use with the Odyssey Tank™ in this
upwards position until it is working normally again. Once you have the experience
to know when your Odyssey Tank™ seems to be about to flood, clicking the tank up
into this “anti-flooding” position for an hour or so will mean you can carry on vaping
without problems.
Cartomizer and battery life
Cartomizer/atomizer life:
Any electronic cigarette cartomizer/atomizer has a limited lifespan dependant upon
its use. This will result in gradual performance and vapour drop off, or cartomizer/
atomizer complete failure. We recommend heavy users replace tank cartomizers
every 7-10 days, and Tornado Tank/eGo-C atomizers every 3 to 4 weeks. Dependant
on usage, failure to replace your cartomizer/atomizers will result in reduced
performance.
Battery life:
Average users should achieve between 4 and 6 hours of operation before a recharge is
needed. Although the batteries are rechargeable, they will require replacement after a
significant number of charge/discharge cycles. An indication of pending failure is your
battery lasting for fewer hours than it did when new. High quality lithium ion batteries,
such as our Odyssey batteries, can be expected to achieve upto 300 charge/discharge
cycles.
