To create a new dial-up connection
After a new standard modem has been set up on your PC, you must
create a new dial-up connection.
1.
On your PC, select
Start > Settings > Control Panel.

Double-click
Network and Dial-up Connections.
3.
Double-click
Make New Connection.
4.
Click
Next to continue.
5.
Click
Dial-up to the Internet.
6.
Click
Next.
7.
Click
I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I
want to connect through a local area network (LAN) and click
Next.
8.
Click
I connect through a phone line and a modem and click
Next.
9.
Select the
Use area code and dialing rules check box.
10.
Enter the telephone number as *99# and click
Next.
11.
Enter the user name and password you use to log on to your ISP
and click
Next.
12.
Enter a name for this connection and click
Next.
13.
Select
No when the installation wizard prompts you to set up an
Internet mail account and click
Next.
