9. Video conferencing, audio conferencing or Chat
mBOX uses Skype to provide video/audio conferencing and text based chat functions.
Click on telephone icon
to go to video/audio conferencing and text-chat application that looks
like following. This is a standard Skype application screen.
Video, audio conferencing and text-chat is possible only when both WAN and LAN connections are
established. LAN connection is part of mBOX system hence is always guaranteed to work (other than in
situations of malfunctions), but WAN connection is established only through 2G/3G/4G data card. User is
responsible for acquiring the USB dongle and SIM card with proper configurations that are necessary to
access internet on mBOX.

To do video/audio conferencing or to chat with another person, user needs to login to his/her Skype
account. New account can be opened very easily and quickly if one doesn’t already have one. Once opened
an account remains active for long time. To do a conference call or do a chat through Skype with another
person the other needs to be online on Skype and should be part of your contact list. A connection needs to
be initiated with online contacts. Once connected a voice or video conference can be initiated from this
application.
Skype can also be used for making phone calls by paying additional charges through Skype credits.
