INSTALLING MOTORISED BALL VALVE (SEE FIG. 1)
Warning: Do not place your fingers or any other part of your body inside the valve body at any time as
the valve has an operating pressure of 1600kPa which could cause major injury.
The Motorised Ball Valve is low voltage so that it can be installed safely without the need for an electrician.
The valve is supplied in the open position and offers full flow through the orifice. The blue motorized controller
should be installed in an upright position to ensure maximum life is achieved. The valve is light weight and can
be supported by normal pipe work. Place the supplied blue cover over the valve for extra protection.
Prior to installation check that the valve operates normally. Do this by firstly plugging the valve lead into the
valve socket which is located on the
RainSmart
TM
controller (see Quick Setup). Secondly, plug the Float
Switch lead into the other socket on the
RainSmart
TM
controller (see Quick Setup). Lastly, plug the
RainSmart
TM
controller into the mains power outlet. To test: hold the Float Switch in the upright position. The
valve should close. Once closed: hold the Float Switch in the downward position. The valve should open. The
last test is a loss of power test. Hold the Float switch once again in the upright position so that the valve closes.
Once closed: pull the valve plug out from the socket. The valve should open. You may also use the test button to
check the valve operation.
Fit the Motorised Ball Valve to the Mains water pipe downstream from the Dual Check Valve (this should be
carried out by a licensed plumber) and plug the valve cable into the
RainSmart
TM
controller socket (See Quick
Setup / Fig. 1).
Note : A Dual Check Valve must be fitted on the upstream side of the Motorised Ball Valve. This is a
government requirement to ensure rain tank water does not mix with municipal mains drinking water.
