In installing the Sequerra Model 1 F M Tuner, c e r t a i n precautions must be observed. F o l l o w the
Installation Instructions c a r e f u l l y , and in sequence. It is advised that y o u familiarize yourself thor
o u g h l y w i t h the p u s h b u t t o n displays and the back jack panel t o appreciate the capabilities o f the
tuner.
The f o l l o w i n g pages w i l l i m p a r t an in-depth understanding. The page e n t i t l e d Immediate Oper
ation explains h o w to q u i c k l y w o r k y o u r tuner once it is p r o p e r l y installed, w i t h o u t t h o r o u g h l y
understanding it. But t o appreciate the f u l l significance o f the p e r f o r m a n c e o f the tuner, and to
make allowable adjustments t o enhance t h e listening q u a l i t y , a t h o r o u g h understanding o f its oper
ations is imperative.
Warning: Please keep in m i n d t h a t t h e w a r r a n t y does n o t cover damage caused b y
misuse, mishandling, i n s u f f i c i e n t v e n t i l a t i o n , or excessive line voltage.
Placement - The tuner should n o t be placed near any source o f heat. A l l o w a m i n i m u m o f t w o
inches clearance above, b e h i n d , and below the tuner f o r v e n t i l a t i o n .
Custom Installation — If y o u are installing t h e tuner in an e q u i p m e n t cabinet, o r behind a
panel, use the m o u n t i n g t e m p l a t e (near back o f this manual) to make the required holes and cut
outs.
Antenna — Choosing t h e proper antenna system is essential in order t o m i n i m i z e m u l t i p a t h
interference. Signal reflections f r o m surrounding buildings, t o w e r s , or hills cause m u l t i p a t h inter
ference. This p h e n o m e n o n , similar t o " g h o s t s " in T V , produces d i s t o r t i o n in the F M signals at the
antenna. N o F M tuner can c o m p l e t e l y e l i m i n a t e m u l t i p a t h interference, therefore careful selection
o f an antenna is necessary in order t o o p t i m i z e p e r f o r m a n c e o f t h e system. T h e best F M reception is
obtained w i t h a steerable or r o t a t a b l e a n t e n n a . T h i s holds t r u e for either an i n d o o r or o u t d o o r an
tenna used in c o n j u n c t i o n w i t h a r o t o r system. A comprehensive discussion o f F M and F M system

Output — Connect t h e tuner t o t h e pre-amp using the t u n e r ' s O u t p u t F i x e d jacks on the back
panel. L & R stand f o r left and right. Be sure t o c o n n e c t left t o left, and right to right, f r o m tuner
t o pre-amp.
Domestic Units — Make sure that local p o w e r is n o m i n a l l y 1 2 0 volts A C at 6 0 Hz as marked o n
the tuner's back panel.
Export Units — Power transformer is adjusted f o r a line i n p u t voltage o f 2 2 0 to 2 4 0 volts. A
proper slow b l o w fuse has been installed.
Power Line — U n w i n d the p o w e r cord a n d p l u g it i n t o an A C w a l l o u t l e t .
