- Charging will not start if the battery pack
is warm. For example, immediately after
heavy-duty operation. The yellow standby
lamp will be flashing until the battery cools
down.
6. If the temperature of the battery pack is
0oC or less, charging takes longer to fully
charge the battery pack than the standard
charging time. Even when the battery is
fully charged, it will have approximately
50% of the power of a fully charged
battery at normal operation temperature.
7. Once the battery is fully charged, the
green lamp will be lit to indicate the gone
into a trickle charge mode.
Ni-MH Battery Pack
When you charge the battery pack for the
first time, or after prolonged storage,
charge it for about 24 hours to bring the
battery up to full capacity.
Li-ion Battery Pack
Your battery pack is not fully charged at
the time of purchase. Be sure to charge
the battery before first use.
Wood Drilling
Determine the desired rotational direction
and adjust, if necessary, by using the
Rotation Selection Switch. Hold the drill
firmly and place the bit at the point to be
drilled. Depress the trigger switch to start
the drill. the electronic trigger switch will
cause the chuck to rotate faster as the
trigger is pulled in further, up to 1,
400 rpm.
Light Metal Drilling
Always clamp sheet metal. Use a punch
to mark the position of the hole. When
used, light machine oil will pro-long the life
of the bit and increase the drilling action.
With steel, use oil as a lubricant; aluminum,
use turpentine or paraffin; brass, copper
and cast iron, use no lubricant. Do not force
tool. Select a lower speed setting and allow
the weight of the tool to do the job. Apply
only a light pressure to the tool for
horizontal drilling.
Plastic and Plastic-coated Chipboard
Use high speed steel drill bits and refer to
the wood drilling section on this page.
Driving Screws
Use bits suitable for type and size of screw
head. Drill a pilot hold for the screw thread
to bite into. If you are using center sunk
screws, drill a counter sink for the screw
head. Use drill at the lowest speed for
better control and avoid stripping the screw
head.
Chuck Removal
Should you need to replace the chuck for
any reason, perform the following:
1. Open chuck jaws fully.
2. Loosen the take out screw inside the
opening by turning the screwdriver in a
clockwise direction.
3. Put direction switch in the “reverse”
position.
MAINTENANCE
l
Do not allow brake-fluids, gasoline,
petroleum-based products, penetrating
oils, etc. to come in contact with plastic
parts. They contain chemicals that can
damage, weaken or destroy the tool and
battery housing.
WARNING! If the bit jams in work-
piece or if the drill stalls, stop the
tool immediately. Remove the bit
from the work piece and determine
the reason for jamming before
resume drilling
