Storing and erasing presets
The receiver can store a total of 60 device settings
(presets). A preset contains all the current settings, i.e.
WIDE/NARROW, MONO/STEREO etc., in addition to the
frequency.
When you call up a preset the receiver is returned to the
exact state it was in when you stored the setting.
When you are using the storage and erasure functions it
is not possible to change the reception mode (WIDE /
ATTENUATOR / MONO), change the mode of operation
(preset select / tuning) or call up the display functions.
Manual storing
First tune in the station to be stored as accurately as you
can, then press the
button. The display first
switches to normal brightness, regardless of the pre-
viously set brightness level. On the right of the screen
you will see the transmitter frequency, and on the left a
'
P
P
P
P
' followed by a flashing number.
This figure is the preset number under which the station
setting will be stored. The number can be changed to any
other using the
and
buttons. If you have
a remote control system (see section
'Remote Control'),
you can use the numeric pad on the remote control unit
to change this number.
Once you have set the preset number you want, simply
press the
button and hold it pressed in for about
a second until the display shows the message
'
STORE
STORE
STORE
STORE
'.
That station is now stored, and can be called up at any
time by selecting its preset number.
You may want to interrupt the memory function without
storing a preset; just press the
button briefly, and
the receiver immediately returns to the normal display.
Erasing presets
First select the preset to be erased using the
and
buttons, or, if available, using the numeric pad on
the Remote Control handset. Press the
button.
The preset number on the screen will now flash, and you
can change it as in the manual storing process. Tap the
button repeatedly until the message '
CLEAR
CLEAR

CLEAR
'
appears on the screen.
Press the
button and hold it pressed in until the
preset number stops flashing. The preset is now erased.
If you wish to interrupt the erasure process, simply tap
the
button briefly, without holding it pressed in.
Automatic storing
(AUTOSTORE)
When this function is switched on, the receiver auto-
matically searches the entire FM band for stations which
will be received at high quality in the reception mode
"STEREO / NARROW", and automatically stores the sta-
tions it finds.
Using the
AUTOSTORE function: first press the
button. You can now select a preset number as the
starting point (as when storing stations manually) using
the
and
buttons (you can also enter a
number directly from the remote control unit). The
stations found will then be stored in the memory locations
following this starting number. If all the station memories
are to be used, select the number 01.
Once you have set the initial preset, tap the
button repeatedly until the message
'
AUTO
AUTO
AUTO
AUTO
' appears on
the screen.
To initiate the automatic storing process press the
button and hold it pressed in for about a second
until the frequency display on the screen starts to incre-
ment (run upwards). You can now follow the process of
seeking and storing stations by watching the screen.
The
AUTOSTORE function ends automatically once the
whole FM band has been searched, or when all the
memories have been used.
Note:
As the tuner is unable to assess the quality of reception
of the individual stations, you can revise manually the
presets which are stored automatically.
To do this, call up each preset in turn and try to improve
the reception quality by changing the reception mode
(WIDE / ATTENUATOR / MONO); then manually store
the preset again (see
'Manual Storing').
If you find presets for stations which are not worth recei-
ving, or if you find duplicate stations on different fre-
quencies, simply erase those presets (see
'Erasing
Presets').
