Test result 10: Continuity test for coax cable When you test the coax cable , you should
insert into the BNC interface and the test method is the similar with network cable.
Attention: The cable continuity testing is only for more than 2-core cables , it's useless for
single cable.
b. Port flash testing: (only for good network cable scanning)
After entering main menu, choose “port flash” function, it will show on the screen. Insert
one end of the lan cable into “POE/PING” Port, the other end connects to the switch, then the
hollow circle will turn into , besides, on the other side, the switch port which the targeted
cable connects to will flash in a different frequency as other ports. It helps users to find the
target cable on switch much easier and visually. The image is as below:
Special Use: network detection
The device can test line sequence under the
switches work on. Network cable as the example---One side connect the main tester's RJ45
MAIN interface and the other side connect the switch , then you can press the test button
directly , if the connection is right , will show you as below ( when the switch is 8 cores )
This is the especial test result display when check cable wiremapping connected to switcher.
Since the switcher is shorted itself, that's why the result is short mapping, but it still means the
cable is good.
But if the Pin1 & Pin2 of the tested switch was open , the testing result will display as below.
(when the switch is 8 cores).
