MAINTENANCE
Diesel fuel will degrade when stored for a long time. Starting up the heater
with old fuel can affect the operation of the fuel pump. Run the heater once
per month for 15 minutes to refresh the fuel in the lines and keep the fuel
pump from malfunctioning.
Use the proper type of diesel that is meant for the time of the year when
the heater is used. Summer grade diesel might cause failure of the fuel
pump or heater when it is used at low temperatures.
NOTE S OF CAUTION
The heater must not be interrupted prematurely,
e.g. by pressing the battery disconnecting switch,
before it has come to a complete stop apart from in
the case of an emergency event.
The heater must not be operated where there is a
risk of an accumulation of flammable vapors or
dust, for example close to fuel, coal, wood, grain
storehouses etc.
The heater must be switched off when refueling.
If fuel leaks from the heater fuel system, arrange for
the damage to be repaired immediately by a
CalTech Heating Technologies service partner.
When the heater is mounted in a safety housing
etc., the installation compartment of the heater is
not a stowage compartment and nothing shall be
stored or transported on or next to the heater.
Defect fuses must only be replaced by fuses with
the prescribed rating of 20 Amp.
The production date must be marked on the Type
