Switch IP Setup
Use the IP Setup window to set the boot-up option, or to manually configure the IP address for the agent module. The
window shown below is described below in the following table.

Items on the screen above include:

Get IP From –
Specifies the method used to assign the Switch an IP address. The options are Manual, DHCP,
and BOOTP, the latter two available in Layer 2 mode only.
•
IP Address –
Allows the manual input of an IP address for the Switch.
•
Subnet Mask –
Allows the input of a Subnet Mask.
•
Default Gateway –
Allows the input of the IP address of a Default Gateway used to pass trap messages from
the Switch’s agent to the management station. Note that the gateway must be defined if the management station
is located on a different IP segment than the Switch.
•
VID –
Allows the input of a VLAN VID to restrict access to the management module on the Switch to a single
VLAN.
Switch Information
Use the Switch Information screen to display descriptive information about the Switch, or for quick system
identification.
