Rear Door Child Safety Locks
The rear doors are equipped with a child
safety lock. The child safety lock prevents
the rear door from being opened from the
inside.
A s l o n g a s t h e c h i l d s a f e t y l o c k i s
switched ON it is not possible to open the
d o o r f r o m t h e i n s i d e w i t h t h e d o o r
opening lever. In this case the door can
be opened only from the outside. Switch
t h e c h i l d s a f e t y l o c k i n u p o r d o w n
position as required.
NOTICE
The following applies if you have
locked your vehicle using key:
• It is not possible to open the doors
or the tailgate from the outside
• Yo u c a n u n l o c k t h e d o o r s
individually from the inside and
o p e n t h e m b y p u l l i n g t h e d o o r
opening lever
• In the event of an accident in
which the airbags are deployed, the
lo ck ed d o ors are auto ma tica lly
unlocked in order to enable the
rescuers to enter the vehicle
WARNING
• The central locking system also
operates if the ignition is switched
OFF
• Children should never be left
unattended in the vehicle since it is
difficult to provide assistance from
the outside when the vehicle is
locked
• Locked doors make it difficult for
rescuers to enter the vehicle in an
emergency
