Offsets
30° or 45°
ELBOWS
The chimney for the FP30 can be installed with a maximum
of four 45° elbows(in Canada) and four 30° elbows(in U.S.A.)
as shown in Fig. #10.
Installation:
1. Install the fi rst elbow; turn it in the required direction. It
is required to secure connections with three (3) #8 x ½"
(12 mm) metal screws.
2. Install the necessary chimney lengths to achieve the
required offset. Lock the chimney lengths together ac-
cording to the chimney manufacturer’s instructions. It is
required to use three (3) #8 x ½" (12 mm) metal screws
at every connection of the chimney. If the offset length is
made of two (2) chimney lengths or more, many chimney
manufacturers require that you use an offset or roof sup-
port halfway up the offset. If penetrating a wall, install a
wall radiation shield supplied by the chimney manufac-
turer and install according to the chimney manufacturer's
installation instructions.
3. Use another elbow to turn the chimney vertically, Secure
the elbow.
4. Use a plumb bob to line up the centre of the hole. Cut
and frame the hole for the chimney in the ceiling/fl oor as
per chimney manufacturer's instructions.
5. Install a fi restop as per the chimney manufacturer's
instructions.
6. A support must be used on the fi rst 15' section (4.6m).

The chimney may incorporate 2 offsets. To do this safely,
all sections of listed chimney, offset elbows and chimney
sections must be screwed together by at least three sheet
metal screws per joint as per manufacturer's instructions.
The chimney must be suitably supported by the chimney
manufacturer's listed offset support.
