DTE and DCE
Connections
Before connecting a Nextiva edge device to other RS-232 serial equipment, you need to
determine if they are DTE (data terminal equipment) or DCE (data communication
equipment).
Here are examples of both equipment types:
DCE—Nextiva edge devices, modems
DTE—Computers, switches, multiplexers, cameras, keyboards
