WATT AGE Lite Stik Assembly Manual - page 3
SUGGESTION To avoid scratching your new airplane, do not unwrap the pieces until they are needed
for assembly. Cover your workbench with an old towel or brown paper, both to protect the aircraft and to
protect the table. Keep a couple of jars or bowls handy to hold the small parts after you open the bags.
NOTE
Please trial fit all the parts. Make sure you have the correct parts and that they fit and are
aligned properly before gluing! This will assure proper assembly. Since the Lite Stik is, in part, hand made,
every airplane is unique and minor adjustments may have to be made. However, you should find the fit
superior and assembly simple.
If you should find a part missing or have questions about assembly, please call or write to the address below:

Radio Preparation
Testing the electronics now will make installation easier
later.
1. Using the proper charger, charge the flight pack. If
you are using an adjustable current charger, a charge
rate below 200mah is best for your first charge. For
future charging, use a rate no more than 2 times the
battery’s ratings (i.e. a 150mah battery should be
charged at no more than 300mah.)
2. Connect the servos to the receiver.
3. Connect the speed control to the receiver.
4. Install or charge the radio transmitter (controller)
batteries.
5. Once the flight battery and radio battery is charged,
connect the flight battery to the speed control and turn
on the transmitter. Most speed controls automatically
turn on when the battery is connected.
6. Test the servo movement. One servo should move
when the stick is moved right and left (if it is a 4 chan-
nel radio, it should be the right stick.) The other servo
should move when the stick is moved forward and aft
(if it is a 4 channel radio, it should be the right stick.)
7. REMOVE the propeller from the gear drive.
8. Connect the motor to speed control. BE CAREFUL!
Do NOT let your fingers get caught in the gears.
9. Move the throttle stick (if you are using a Focus 3,
the throttle is the lever behind the antenna.) For 4 chan-
nel radios only: Stick full forward should be full throttle.
Stick full back (toward you) should be motor off. Use
the transmitter servo reversing switch if the stick move-
ment is backwards.
10. Run the motor until the Speed Control’s Auto Cut-
off turns the motor off. Let the battery cool. After 30
minutes, charge the battery again. Most Nicads must be
cycled 3-5 times before they reach maximum perfor-
mance.
Stabilizer Installation
o)
1. For this section, you will need the fuselage stick,
the horizontal stabilizer, the vertical stabilizer, the glue,
a pen, a builder’s triangle, and a ruler.
o)
2. Examine the fuselage to identify the fuselage
orientation. The bottom of the fuselage can be identi-
fied by the small hole drilled on end on the bottom.
This hole will be for the tail skid. This end of the fuse-
lage is where the horizontal stabilizer is mounted.
o)
3. Find the Horizontal Stabilizer. The hinge line has
been cut into one side for the elevator. Press a ballpoint
pen against the cut to create a crease. This will allow
the elevator to move down. Now flex the elevator up
and down a few times. Only flex it 45 degrees in each
direction. Do NOT cut the hinge. The foam will flex,
creating the hinge.
o)
4. Use your ruler to find the middle of the stabi-
lizer at the hinge line. The slot cut in the elevator should
be offset to the left. If it is on the right, flip the stabi-
lizer over.
o)
5. Draw a centerline on the stabilizer only.
