Note:Whenawirelessrainswitchisusedwithametalen-
closure,installtherainsensorreceiveroutsidetheenclosure
toensurereceptionfromaremotelymountedrainswitch
transmitter.
Irritrol Wireless Rain Switch Installation
Step 1: Mounttherainswitchreceiverwhereitcanbeeasily
accessedandobserved.
Note:Donotinstallawirelessrainsensor
withinmetalenclosureswheresignalstrength
isdiminished.
Step 2: Forwall-mountinstallations,routethereceiverwires
throughthebottomoftheenclosureintotheinterior
oftheenclosure.Deburranyfielddrilledthrough
holesandinserta¼”insidediameterrubbergrommet
toprotectfieldwiring.Addasmallamountofsilicone
sealantwherethesensorwireentersthegrommetfor
addedprotection.Avoidshortingwiresfromanopen
thru-holewithoutagrommet.Ashortedwirecan
causepermanentdamagetothecontrollerelectron-
ics,anissuenotcoveredunderwarranty.
Step 3: Locatetherainsensorinputterminalblockinthe
upper-leftcornerofthe24-stationinput/output
board.Thisterminalblockisdesignedtoberemov-
abletofacilitatefasterconnectionofrainsensorwir-
ing.Toremove,simplywiggletheterminalblockside
toside.Remove the rain switch wire jumper before
installing the rain sensor wire.(SeeFigure10).

Step4: Removeapproximately3/8”ofwireinsulationto
exposethesolidorstrandedconductor.
Step5: Confirmtheleverofthescrewlessterminalisinthe
uporunlockedposition.Inserttheexposedwireand
presstheleverdownwardtolock.Confirmcontactby
gentlypullingdownontheinsertedwire.
