FIERY Si DRIVER SUMMARY
•
Adobe v4.1 for Windows 95.
•
Adobe v3.0.1 for Windows 3.x (support for install on a local
client only).
•
Adobe v8.3.x for Macintosh.
•
There is no driver support for UNIX.
•
WIN NT 3.5 does not support PS Level 2 from Fiery Si
Server Driver.
•
Adobe PPD’s supplied may not fully enable all features with
Win NT 4.0. XJ+ Server support for Win NT 4.0 is for the
beta level at this time. Not all XJ+ Server features are
supported in Win NT 4.0 since Win NT 4.0 does not support
an Adobe Driver.
•
There is no driver support for DOS Applications.
•
Support for the Adobe Driver and function in a networked
Windows environment is the responsibility of the customer.
The supplied driver has been validated to support Windows
on a local client only. Contact Adobe for driver support in a
network Windows environment.
•
Mac OS 8.x is not validated for printing with the v1.2 Sytem
Software.
•
Job notes are not supported when printing with LPR.
NETWORK SPECIFICATIONS
NETWORK SPECIFICATIONS
•
The Fiery Si supports a 10BaseT (RJ 45),10Base5
(Thicknet), or 10Base2(Thinnet) via a transceiver, network
connections.
•
The Fiery Si auto senses the following protocols:
AppleTalk, TCP/ IP, & IPX, as well as the Centronics
Parallel Port.
•
Frame types supported:
-IPX (Ethernet 802.2, Ethernet 802.3 and Ethernet_II)
-AppleTalk (Ethernet_snap)
-TCP / IP (Ethernet _II)
•
Four simultaneous network connections are available in
the Fiery Si compared to eight in the XJ / XJ+ Family.
•
Token Ring is supported as an option using the same IPX
Token Ring kit as the XJ / XJ+ Family.
•
The Token Ring option only supports Novell IPX.
•
Native Novell 4.x is not supported at this time. The Fiery Si
connection is through the Bindery Emulation Mode.
•
Win NT for non-Intel based platforms is not supported at
this time.
•
Novell 4.x AppleTalk connection to the Si is not supported.
•
All NT Support is through TCP/IP only.
•
Win NT printing is through TCP/IP.
•
Win 95 printing is through IPX.
•
Win 3.x printing is through IPX
•
Macintosh printing is through AppleTalk.
