To disable this function, select Off. The factory default is Off.

Select On and press Save to display the Execute Data Encryption screen.

Select Yes or No.
Notes on enabling the data encryption feature and changing the settings
You need to reboot the machine after enabling/disabling data encryption or changing the encryption
key. The corresponding storage space (hard disk) will be initialized during the reboot process.
Initializing will erase all the data stored previously.
The storage space holds spooled print data.

Be sure to save all necessary settings and files before you enable the data encryption feature
or change any settings.

If the hard disk currently connected to the machine does not satisfy the encryption settings,
an error occurs. For information on error messages and remedies, refer to
Error Messages
on
page 4-9.

Even our customer service representatives cannot see or restore the encryption key. Be sure
not to lose the encryption key.

It takes a while for the encryption settings to update.

If an error occurs during the encryption setup process, an error message is displayed on the
touch screen. Reboot the machine according to the instructions displayed on the screen.

The encryption setting is set to Off the next time the machine starts up.
–
During the encryption setup process, the machine cannot accept the print operation.
