Set the spring g on the outer plate
cartridge, and then install the handle
stopper h so that the spring is
compressed approximately a from its
free length.
TIP:
• After installing the handle stopper, pull the
drive shaft upward to confirm that there is
no free play.
• Do not press down the spring by more than
5.0 mm (0.197 in). Otherwise, excessive
torque will be required to turn the drive
shaft, making it difficult to obtain correct
measurements.
10. Install the special service tool i onto the
drive shaft at the lowest possible position
where the shaft diameter is 22.4 mm
(0.882 in), and then set up the special
service tool k.
TIP:
Position the special service tool k so that the
plunger tip b contacts the mark c on the
special service tool i.
11. Slowly turn the drive shaft clockwise and
counterclockwise, and then measure the
backlash at the position where it stops in
each direction.
