After adjusting the idle speed, rev the
engine a few times and let it idle to check
the stability of the engine.
Adjusting the throttle link rod
1.
Push the throttle control lever

to the
fully open position, and then measure the
gap
a
between the carburetor throttle
lever

and carburetor stopper

.
Adjust the throttle lever

if out of speci-
fication, as follows.

If out of specification, adjust the throttle
link rod length.
3.
Push the throttle control lever

to the
fully open position.
4.
While pushing the carburetor throttle
lever
2
against the carburetor stopper
3
, loosen, and then tighten the adjusting
screw

Adjusting the dashpot
1.
Attach the special service tool
1
to
spark plug wire #1
a
.
2.
Start the engine and warm up for 5–10
minutes.
3.
Open the throttle cam
2
slowly, and
check the engine speed when the accel-
eration pump stopper
b
comes into con-
tact with point
c
.
4.
Adjust the engine speed at the operation
point of dashpot, if out of specification.
5.
Open the throttle cam
2
slowly, and
check that the acceleration pump stopper
b
comes in contact with point
c
.
6.
Turn the adjusting screw
3
in or out until
the specified engine speed is obtained.
7.
Open and close the throttle cam a few
times, and check the engine speed at the
operation point of dashpot again.
Gap
a
: Less than 0.5 mm (0.02 in)
