Removing the hydro tilt unit

After tilting the swivel bracket up, make
sure to support it with the tilt stop lever.
Otherwise, the swivel bracket could sud-
denly lower if the hydro tilt unit should
lose gas pressure.

When removing the hydro tilt unit with
the power unit installed, make sure to
suspend the outboard motor. If the out-
board motor is not suspended it can fall
suddenly and result in severe injury.

Fully tilt the swivel bracket up, and then
support it with the tilt stop lever

Remove the lower mount shaft bolts

, and then remove the lower
mount shaft

Remove the circlip

and upper mount
shaft

, and then remove the hydro tilt
unit

from the bracket assembly.
WARNING! Do not disassemble or
puncture the hydro tilt unit, as high-
pressure gas is contained. Do not
apply heat or fire to the hydro tilt unit,
as high-pressure gas is contained.
