802.1p Default Priority
The Switch allows the assignment of a default 802.1p priority to each port on the Switch. In the
Configuration
folder open
the
QoS
folder and click
802.1p Default Priority
, to view the screen shown below.

This page allows you to assign a default 802.1p priority to any given port on the Switch. The priority tags are numbered
from 0, the lowest priority, to 7, the highest priority. To implement a new default priority, choose the Switch of the Switch
stack to be configured by using the
Unit
pull-down menu, choose a port range by using the
From
and
To
pull-down menus
and then insert a priority value, from 0-7 in the
Priority
field. Click
Apply
to implement your settings.
802.1p User Priority
The xStack DES-6500 chassis switch allows the assignment of a class of service to each of the 802.1p priorities. In the
Configuration
folder open the
QoS
folder and click
802.1p User Priority
, to view the screen shown below.

Once you have assigned a priority to the port groups on the Switch, you can then assign this Class to each of the eight
levels of 802.1p priorities. Click
Apply
to set your changes.
