INSTALLATION
1.
These instructions and installation parts are for a standard double-hung
window. It can be installed with our without the expandable panels.
Make sure the opening is large enough for the unit size (Fig. A) :
opening width - 23-36” (59-92 cm) min. ; height - 14

” (37 cm) min.
Modify accordingly for other types of window.

The unit must be installed within 122 cm (4’) of a wall grounded outlet.
3.
All supporting parts must be fixed to solid wood, masonry or metal.

Clear out the area where the unit is installed ; air inlets and outlets must
be free at all times. The rear of the unit must be outdoors, not inside a building, a garage or
other closed area.
IMPORTANT :
If the air conditioner is blocked by the storm window, remove the storm window.
If it is not possible, to make sure the unit will drain properly, fix a piece of wood to the stool in
order to allow the air conditioner to tilt toward outside (Fig. B).
Size of the window piece :
Width

- long enough to fit inside the window frame ;
Thickness
- thick enough to allow for proper pitch to rear ; place a
piece of wood on stool to make it 1/2” (1,3 cm) higher than the top
of the storm window frame.
• Make sure that the drain holes of the storm window frame are not
blocked by caulking or painting.
PREPARING THE AIR CONDITIONER

IX THE EXPANDABLE PANELS ON THE AIR CONDITIONER BEFORE PLACING THE UNIT IN THE WINDOW

1.
Top mounting rail :
Align the holes in the top rail with those
on the top of the air conditioner ; secure the top rail to the
unit with 4 x 3/8” screws (Fig C).
2.
Expandable panels :
There is a LEFT and a RIGHT
expandable panel - be sure to properly match each panel
to each side of the air conditioner. When installed, the
flange for securing the panel in place to the window sill
is facing into the room.
• Strech the expendable panel towards the open end of the panel
frame until it slightly exceeds the panel frame in order to be
inserted in the unit side rail.
•Slide the panel edge down in the unit side rail. Make sure it
securely sits in the side rail
(Fig D-1).
• Insert and slide all the way in the top and bottom ends of the
panel frame into the unit top and bottom rails
(Fig D-2).
• Repeat on the other side.
