INSTALLING THE AIR CONDITIONER
1.
Center the air conditioner in the window
opening; make sure the lower rail of the unit
is behind and against the back side of the
window sill. Carefully close the window
behind the top rail of the unit (Fig. E).
2.
Extend the left and right expandable panels
into the vertical window sashes.
3.
On each side, place the frame locking bracket
between the frame extension and the window
sill. Using a 3/4” screw, secure the panel
screwing through the locking bracket and into
the sill (Fig. F).
• To prevent window sill from splitting, drill a

•
Top rail and expandable panels are offset to provide the 5/16” pitch to the rear. This is
necessary for proper condensed water utilization and drainage. If you do not have to use
the expandable panels, make sure to maintain this pitch upon installing the airconditioner.
•
Make sure you install the air conditioner in a window that will hold the weight and secure
the unit as per the instructions. Check the rating label on your unit or the packing box to
get the weight of your air conditioner.
