The grassbag material is capable of stopping most forms of
debris(stones,gravel,etc.)whichcouldbethrownoutbythe
blade.ltisessentialthatthegrassbagischeckedperiodically
fordamageorwear,inwhichcaseitshouldbereplacedIm-
mediatelywithanoriginalIBEAgrassbag.
Whileoperatingwithyourlawnmower,itmayhappenthatthe
cuttingbladecollideswithasolidobjectwiththeconsequent
breakageofbladebushingpins(fig.8).Themowercouldthen
starttovibrateabnormally.
In order to avoid severe damages to your lawnmower, im-
mediatelystoptheenginewhentheabovementionedsitua-
tiontakesplace.Waituntilthemovingpartshavecompletely
stopped,disconnectthehightensionwirefromthesparkplug
andreplacethebladebushing.
Leaf collection
Yourmowermayalsobeusedtocollectleaves:
1. Thegrassbagmustbecorrectlymounted
2. Theheightofcutmustbeadjustedtothesameheight,or
slightlyabovethanthelayerofleaves.
Thebladewillcreateanairvacuumwhichliftstheleavesand
sucksthemintothegrassbag.
MAINTENANCE
ATTENTION: Never service or repair the mower until the
blade and engine have stopped and you have disconnected
the high tension wire from the spark plug.
Crankcase oil change
1. Placethemoweronaflatsurface.
2. Starttheengineandletitrunforaboutaminutesothatoil
flowsbetter.Turnoffengine.
3. Disconnectthehightensionwirefromthesparkplug.
4. Removethegrassbag.
5. Drainthefueltankinordertoavoidpossiblespillageand
acci-dents.
6. Tipmoweronitsrightsideandunscrewthedrainageplug
undertheengine.Emptythecrankcase,allowingtheoilto
flowintoasuitabletray.
7. Whenthecrankcaseiscompletelyempty,screwthedrain-
agepulgbackonagainandfillthecrankcasewithclean
SAE30oil(0,6l).
NOTE: Please refer to local regulations for correct disposal of
burnt engine oil.
Drainage of the fuel tank
1. Stoptheengineanddisconnectthehightensionwirefrom
sparkplug.
2. Unscrewthefueltankcap.
3. Usingasiphon,pumpthepetrolfromthetankintoasuit-
ablecontainer.
Adjusting the throttle cable
1. Makesurethattheengineisoffandcoldandthatthehigh
tensionwireisdiconnectedfromthesparkplug.
2. Movethethrottlelevertothe
position.
3. Loosenthescrewwhichfastensthecableplatetotheen-
gineuntilthecablecomesfree(fig.9).
4. Pullthethrottlecableasfarasitwillgotowardstherearof
theengine.

change the oil more frequently.

Filling the fuel tank (fig. 2)
1. Cleanaroundthetankcap.
2. Takethecapoffandfillthetankuptoabout15mmfrom
thetopwithcleanpetrol.
3. Replacecapandcleananyspillage.
ATTENTION:
1. Always handle fuel with maximum care.
2. Refuel outdoors using a clean funnel to prevent spilling.
Wipe up any spilled petrol.
3. Refuel only after turning the engine off and when engine
is cold. Do not fill beyond 15 mm from top of fuel tank as fuel
expands when hot.
4. When filling tank, keep far away from open flames and
sparks and DO NOTsmoke!
5. Do not mix oil with gasoline. (See engine manual for fur-
ther informations on oil and fuel).
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Your lawnmower is equipped with a safety device
(System 2) which kills the engine and stops the cutting blade
whenever the operator lets go of the handle.
ATTENTION: Never leave the mower unattended.
1. Placemoweronthelawn,possiblyonaflatsurtace.
2. Checktheheightofthegrassandadjusttheheightofcut
accordingly.
3. Cutting height adjustment (fig. 1-5). This must be done
whenengineisoff.
a) Sixsettingsareavailable.
b) Foreasieradjustment,liftthehousingupsothatthewheel
doesnottouchtheground.
c) Squeezeadjustmentlevertowardsthewheelandmoveto
thedesiredsetting(fig.3).
d) Ensuretheleverslotsfirmlyintothechosennotch.
e) Adjustallwheelstothesamesetting.
4. Movethethrottlelever(fig.1-4)tothe
position.
5. SqueezetheSystem2levertowardsthehandle,slowlypull
starter handle until cord is stretched tight and then pull
hardtostarttheengine(fig.4).
6. Squeeze the traction lever towards the handles and the
mowerwillstartmovingforwardandcutthegrass(fig.5).
7. Tostopthetractionortopullthemowerbackwards,letgo
ofthetractionlever.
DURING OPERATION
Keeppeopleandanimalsawayfromthecuttingarea(fig.6).
Beforeoperation,clearthecuttingareaofallforeignobjects.
Operateonlywitheitherbagorprotectionsinposition(fig.6).
Keephandsandfeetawayfromthechutedoorandtheblades
underthedeck(fig.7).
Thegrassclippingsmaybecollectedinthegrassbagordis-
chargedonthelawn.
