The different methods, procedures and
necessary actions to operate the
Expert(t) 2000
TM
are presented in this
section of the Operator Manual.
Approaching the
Vehicle
As you approach the vehicle, look for
any foreign object around or under it.
Check the surroundings for people,
other vehicles, and overhead
obstructions. Ensure that the Expert(t)
2000
TM
is in an area where you will have
all the clearance required to perform
the complete start-of-the-day
inspection.
Starting the Vehicle
Once you are sure that the vehicle is in
a safe area, you must start it to
perform the inspection.
To start the Expert(t) 2000
TM
:
1.
Open the chassis manufacturer’s
manual and start the vehicle as
stated therein.
2.
Once the engine is running,
check the following items:
•
Transmission is on neutral.
•
Parking brake is on.
•
Hydraulic system is off.
3.
Turn to
O
N
the
P
UMP
switch on the
control console to engage the
hydraulic system (the air
pressure has to be at a minimum
of 90 PSI and engine RPM lower
than 900).
4.
Turn on all light switches,
(position, strobe, driving and
work lights).
Inspecting the Vehicle
Once the vehicle has been properly
started, it is time to perform the vehicle
visual inspection.
To inspect the vehicle:
1.
Exit the vehicle, look around for
accessible lights, safety labels,
camera lenses, etc. and clean
them with a dry cloth.
2.
Check for mechanical problems,
rollers, hinges, door locks, wear
items, etc.
