About Access Codes
YourTANDBERGsystemmay,ormaynot,
besetuptorequireAccessCodestobe
typedinbeforeacallcanbemade.
AccessCodesareusedfortwothings;
callrestrictionsandbillingopportunities.
Call restrictions
maybeappliedbyinstall-
ingafileofvalidaccesscodesthatmust
beenteredtopermitcallstobemade.
Thisinstallationistypicallymadefrom
TMS(TANDBERGManagementSuite
–availableseparately).
Billing opportunities.
Assumethatanac-
cesscodeisneededwheneveryoumake
acall.Yourcompanymayhavedifferent
accesscodesforthedifferentclientsof
yourcompany.
Then,theaccesscodeusedmaybe
pickedupbyTMStogeneratestatistics
onwhoiscallingwhom,when,andfor
howlongtime.
Thisinformationmaylaterformthe
basisforbillingclientsordepartments.
Observethatinthiscasetherewillbe
nostrictneedforinstallinganAccess
Codefileonyoursystem–TMSwillstill
haveaccesstothecodesyouhaveas-
signedtothecalls.Inthiscaseanycode
enteredwillbeconsideredvalid.
Ofcourse,thetwomaybecombinedto
formabilling system with call restrictions.
Thiswillthenbecomeasystemthatacts
asforcedbilling.
AccessCodescanbeupto16characters
long.
TheAccessCodesfeatureisactivatedin
the
SecuritySettings
menuoftheCon-
trolPanel.Theactivation/deactivationof
thefeaturemaybepasswordprotected
byyourSystemAdministrator.Ifindoubt,
consultyourSystemAdministrator.

Preparetomakeacall

diallingmanually
–by
usingthephonebook
WhenpromptedforanAccessCode,
enterthecodeusingthe
Numerical
keypad,whichnowwillbesetto
ABC
modeautomatically.
