Description
Troubleshooting
Module has no power.
Make sure the D2D harness is connected or that the 12
Volt is present between the red and black wires. If the
12 Volt is present, the module may be defective.
Waiting to begin the programming sequence.
Ensure the correct programming procedure is being
followed.
CAN programmed and waiting for bypass programming.
Normal operation.
Waiting for offline Key2GO programming.
Normal operation.
Module successfully programmed or is already
programmed.
Normal operation.
Module successfully programmed
Normal operation
CAN not detected.
Check the Tan - Tan/Black wire connections. Wake up
the data bus by turning the ignition on and try again.
Bypass data not detected.
Check the bypass line connection, make sure there is a
continuity between the 2 sides of the cut and turn the
ignition ON. Make sure the battery was removed when
turning the ignition ON.
OBDII feature not supported.
Diagnostic data bus not detected. Some features are not
supported by SmartStart. This can be caused by
missing wire connections or module hardware limitation.
Refer to "Installation" on page 8 to check the
connections.
GWR (Status) command received.
Used to ensure the module has received the remote
start message and has enabled the remote start
runtime. Commands can come from RF or D2D.
IGNITION ON command received.
Used to ensure the module received the ignition
command.
START ON command received.
Used to ensure the module received the start command.
LOCK command received.
UNLOCK command received.
TRUNK command received.
If the bypass module fails to flash, it means the module
did not receive the signal.

If the LED is red after the ignition is ON, check for CAN-High
and CAN-Low connections as the ignition is not seen on
CAN.
Flashes green fast
Normal. CAN programmed and waiting for
bypass programming.

Normal. Waiting for offline key2go
programming.
Solid green for 3
seconds with a quick

was lost or was never received by the module.

Otherwise, the ignition signal was not received by the
module. In a W2W install, it will show only if the ignition
input wire is used.

START ON command received.
Otherwise, the start signal was not received by the
module. In a W2W install, it will show only if the ignition
input wire is used.
D2D and W2W Commands

LOCK command received.
