Adjusting the tremolo angle
The SAT30 tremolo is normally used in a
“floating” state that allows the arm to be
operated either upward or downward, but it
is also common to set the tremolo unit in
close contact with the surface of the guitar
body so that the arm can be operated only
downward (Fig.49).
The angle of the tremolo is adjusted by the
balance between the tension of the strings
and the tension of the tremolo springs in-
stalled on the rear of the guitar body. With
the guitar tuned correctly, use a Philips (+)
screwdriver to turn the tremolo spring hook
screws (Fig.50) located on the back of the
guitar body. If the tremolo is tilted forward
toward the neck, the tremolo springs are too
loose; turn the screws clockwise to tighten
the springs. Conversely, if the tremolo is
tilted away from the neck, the tremolo
springs are too tight; turn the screws
counter-clockwise to loosen the springs.
If you set the tremolo in close contact with
the guitar body, you can make the tension
of the tremolo springs extra strong so that
the pitch of other strings will not change
when you bend a string, making the pitch
more stable. (Arm-down operation will be
stiffer.)
* When adjusting the angle of the tremolo,
the tuning will drift each time you change
the length of the tremolo spring. You will
need to tune repeatedly during this pro-
cess.
Tremolo springs
Three springs are normally used in the float-
ing state. If three springs do not provide
sufficient tension, you can increase the ten-
sion by installing the two outside springs
diagonally. Conversely, if the tension is too
strong with three springs, you can remove
the middle spring and use only the two out-
side springs. If the tremolo unit is set in close
contact with the body, four or more springs
are sometimes used to completely fix the
tremolo in place.
Installation or removal of tremolo springs
must always be done very carefully and with
the strings loosened completely.

Le vibrato SAT30 est normalement utilisé à
l’état « flottant » permettant de bouger la tige
de vibrato vers le haut ou vers le bas, mais il
est également courant de placer l’unité de vi-
brato en contact avec la surface de la caisse
de la guitare de sorte que la tige ne puisse être
utilisée que vers le bas (Fig. 49).
L’angle du vibrato est ajusté par l’équilibre
entre la tension des cordes et la tension des
ressorts de vibrato installés à l’arrière de la
guitare. Une fois la guitare accordée, tournez
les vis des ressorts de vibrato (Fig. 50) situées
à l’arrière de la caisse de la guitare avec un
tournevis cruciforme. Si le vibrato est incliné
en avant, vers le manche de la guitare, cela
signifie que les ressorts de vibrato ne sont pas
assez serrés ; tournez les vis dans le sens des
aiguilles d’une montre pour resserrer les res-
sorts. A l’inverse, si le vibrato est incliné vers
l’arrière, les ressorts sont trop serrés, tournez
les vis dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une
montre pour détendre les ressorts.
Si vous réglez le vibrato pour qu’il soit au con-
tact de la caisse de la guitare, vous pouvez
tendre les ressorts plus fortement de sorte que
le son des autres cordes ne changera pas lors-
que vous tirerez une corde, l’accord sera donc
plus stable. (Un fonctionnement avec la tige
vers le bas offrira plus de résistance.)
* Lorsque vous ajustez l’angle de l’unité de
vibrato, l’accord bouge à chaque fois que
vous modifiez la longueur des ressorts de
vibrato. Vous devrez sans cesse accorder au
cours de cette opération.
Ressorts de vibrato
En état flottant on utilise généralement trois
ressorts. Si les trois ressorts n’offrent pas une
tension suffisante, vous pouvez augmenter la
tension en installant les deux ressorts extérieurs
en diagonale. A l’inverse, si la tension est trop
forte avec les trois ressorts, vous pouvez reti-
rer le ressort du milieu et n’utiliser que les deux
ressorts extérieurs. Si l’unité de vibrato est pla-
cée en contact avec la caisse, il est possible
d’utiliser quatre ressorts ou plus pour rendre
complètement fixe le vibrato en place.
L’installation et le retrait des ressorts de vibrato
sont des opérations très délicates qui exigent
beaucoup de minutie et qui doivent être effec-
tuées avec les cordes complètement desserrées.

Normalerweiser wird das SAT30 Tremolo im
“schwebenden” Zustand betrieben, so dass der
Bügel sowohl nach oben als auch nach unten
bewegt werden kann. Es ist aber auch nicht un-
üblich, die Tremoloeinheit auf der Decke der
Gitarre aufsitzen zu lassen, damit der Bügel nur
nach unten bewegt werden kann (Abbildung 49).
Der Neigungswinkel des Tremolo kann justiert
werden, indem das Gleichgewicht zwischen
der Spannung der Saiten und der Spannung
der Federn auf der Rückseite der Gitarre ver-
ändert wird. Verwenden Sie einen Kreuz-
schlitzschraubendreher, um die Schrauben des
Federhalters (Abbildung 50) auf der Rückseite
der Gitarre zu drehen. Die Federn sind zu
schwach gespannt, wenn sich die Tremolo-
einheit in Richtung des Halses neigt; drehen
Sie in diesem Fall die Schrau-ben im Uhrzei-
gersinn, um die Federn zu spannen. Umge-
kehrt sind die Federn zu straff gespannt, wenn
sich das Tre-molo vom Hals weg neigt. Dre-
hen Sie die Schrauben gegen den Uhrzeiger-
sinn, um die Federn zu entspannen.
Wenn Sie die Tremoloeinheit auf dem Korpus
aufsetzen lassen, können Sie die Tremolofedern
besonders straff spannen, so dass die Tonhöhe
anderer Saiten sich nicht verändert beim Zie-
hen (“Bending”) einer Saite. (Die Bewegung
des Bügels ist dann schwergängiger.)
* Während der Einstellung des Tremolo-
neigungswinkels verstimmt sich die Gi-
tarre bei jeder Veränderung der Feder-
länge des Tremolo. Die Gitarre muss je-
desmal von Neuem gestimmt werden.
Tremolofedern
In der schwebenden Betriebsart werden norma-
lerweise drei Federn verwendet. Wenn die drei
Federn keine ausreichende Zugkraft entfalten,
können Sie die Spannung erhöhen, indem Sie
die beiden äußeren Federn diagonal einsetzen.
Im umgekehrten Fall können Sie die mittlere
Feder entfernen und nur die beiden äußeren ver-
wenden, wenn die Spannung zu groß ist. Wenn
das Tremolo im “auf die Decke aufgesetzten
Zustand” betrieben werden soll, kann es erfor-
derlich sein, vier oder mehr Federn einzuset-
zen, um das Tremolo vollständig zu fixieren.
Bitte wenden Sie große Sorgfalt beim Entfer-
nen oder Hinzufügen von Saiten an. Die Sai-
ten müssen dabei vollständig entlastet sein.
