NECK
The neck bears the tension of the strings.
The curvature of the neck is subtly affected
not only by the state of tuning and the string
gauge, but also by changes in temperature
and humidity. For this reason, the neck con-
tains an internal truss rod that allows the
curvature to be precisely adjusted. Tune the
strings accurately, hold the guitar in playing
position, and press the first string at the first
fret and at the fret that is nearest to the point
where the neck joins the body, as shown in
Figure 5. (It is convenient to use a capo at
the first fret.) Measure the gap between the
string and fret at the eighth fret. Do the same
for the sixth (lowest) string. For each string,
the gap should be in the range of 0.3~0.5
mm (a slight bow in the neck).
Although the symptoms may vary depend-
ing on the type of neck and on how the neck
is joined to the body, problems such as ex-
cessive string height, string buzz for high
notes, or intonation difficulties may be due
to an excessively bowed neck (Fig.6 A),
which will cause this gap to be larger. Con-
versely, problems such as insufficient string
height, string buzz for low notes, or muted
notes may be due to a neck that is bowed
in the reverse direction (Fig.6 B), which will
cause this gap to be smaller. Do not simply
make a visual judgment of the situation.
Rather, determine the problem based on the
symptoms that occur, and make the appro-
priate adjustment.
The truss rod nut is located at the head-
stock end of the neck. Using the Allen
wrench or socket wrench included with the
guitar, tighten the nut toward the right (Fig.7
A) if you want to bend the neck in the con-
vex direction, or loosen the nut toward the
left (Fig.7 B) if you want to bend the neck in
the concave direction. Make adjustments in
quarter-turns, alternating steps of tuning and
adjustment.
* You must take appropriate care when ad-
justing the neck. If the truss rod nut does
not turn as you expect, or if you are un-
able to make adjustments accurately, do
not attempt to force the adjustment, but
contact your dealer or the Ibanez Corpo-
ration.

Le manche soutient la tension des cordes. La
courbe du manche est sensible non seulement
au réglage et au calibre des cordes, mais aussi
aux variations de température et d’humidité. C’est
pourquoi le manche est équipé d’une tige de
réglage qui permet d’ajuster la courbe avec pré-
cision. Accordez correctement les cordes, main-
tenez la guitare en position de jeu puis appuyez
sur la première corde au niveau de la première
frette et à l’endroit auquel le manche rejoint la
caisse, comme sur la Figure 5. (Vous pouvez vous
aider d’un capodastre sur la première frette).
Mesurez l’écart qui sépare la corde et la surface
des frettes au niveau de la huitième frette. Procé-
dez de la même façon pour la sixième frette (la
plus basse). Pour chaque corde, l’écart doit se
situer entre 0,3 et 0,5 mm (correspondant à une
légère incurvation du manche).
Certes les symptômes dépendent du type de
manche et de la façon dont le manche est at-
taché à la caisse, toutefois la plupart du temps,
les problèmes de hauteur excessive de la
corde, de bourdonnement dans les notes
aiguës ou de difficulté d’intonation sont pro-
voqués par une incurvation excessive du man-
che (Fig. 6 A) induisant une augmentation de
cet écart. A l’inverse, les problèmes de hau-
teur insuffisante, de bourdonnement dans les
notes graves ou de notes muettes sont provo-
qués par une incurvation insuffisante (Figure.
6 B) qui réduit trop cet écart. Ne vous conten-
tez pas d’une simple estimation à vue d’œil.
En effet, il convient de déterminer le problème
à partir du symptôme constaté et d’ajuster en
conséquence.
L’écrou de la tige de réglage est situé tout au
bout du manche. A l’aide d’une clé Allen ou
d’une clé à douille fournie avec la guitare,
serrez l’écrou vers la droite (Fig. 7 A) si vous
voulez incurver davantage le manche ou des-
serrez l’écrou vers la gauche (Fig. 7 B) si vous
voulez le rendre plus concave. Réglez par
quarts de tours et entre chaque, accordez.
* Il convient d’être particulièrement vigilant
lors du réglage du manche. Si l’écrou de la
tige de réglage ne tourne pas comme vous
le voulez, ou si vous ne parvenez pas à ré-
gler avec précision, ne forcez surtout pas,
contactez votre revendeur ou directement
Ibanez.
HALS
Auf den Hals überträgt sich die Saitenspannung.
Die Krümmung des Halses wird nicht nur durch
die Stimmung und den Saitendurchmesser, son-
dern auch durch Schwankungen von Luftfeuch-
tigkeit und Temperatur leicht verändert. Deshalb
ist in den Hals ein Stab eingelassen, durch den
die Halskrümmung sehr genau justiert werden
kann. Stimmen Sie die Gitarre genau und halten
Sie die Gitarre in Spielposition. Drücken Sie die
erste Saite am ersten Bund und zugleich dem
Bund, an dem der Hals in den Korpus mündet.
(Abbildung 5). Hierbei ist es praktisch, einen
Kapodaster auf den ersten Bund zu spannen. Der
Abstand von Unterkante Saite und Oberkante
Bundstab sollte am achten Bund 0.3 bis 0,5mm
sein.(Leichte Biegung des Halses). Führen Sie das
Ganze auch mit der tiefsten Saite durch.
Abhängig von der Art des Halses und seiner Befe-
stigung am Korpus sind folgende Fehler möglich:
Ein zu großer Abstand der Saiten zu den Bünden,
bewirkt ein Schnarren der Saiten in den oberen
Lagen (zu stark gekrümmter Hals), auch Stimm-
probleme können auftreten. (Abbildung 6 A).
Umgekehrt treten aufgrund eines in die entgegen-
gesetzte Richtung gebogenen Halses Probleme wie
eine zu geringe Saitenhöhe, schnarren tiefer Töne
oder auch gedämpfte Töne auf. (Abbildung 6 B).
Beurteilen Sie die Halskrümmung nicht nach Augen-
schein. Statt dessen sollten Sie das Problem aufgrund
der auftretenden obengenannten Maße bestimmen,
um dann die Halskrümmung gezielt zu verändern.
Die Einstellschraube des Spannungsstabes befin-
det sich am Kopfende des Halses. Verwenden Sie
den mit Ihrer Gitarre mitgelieferten Imbus- oder
Steckschlüssel, um die Schraube im Uhrzeiger-
sinn zu drehen (Abbildung 7 A) und dadurch den
Hals konvex (nach außen gewölbt) zu krümmen.
Durch Drehung der Mutter gegen den Uhrzei-
gersinn (Abbildung 7 B) wird der Hals konkav
(eingewölbt, nach innen gebogen) gekrümmt.
Verstellen Sie die Einstellmutter in Schritten von
einer Viertelumdrehung, überprüfen Sie dabei die
obengenannten Abstände, und verstellen Sie
dann die Einstellschraube gegebenenfalls weiter.
* Achtung beim Einstellen des Halsstabes!! Wenn
sich die Einstellmutter des Stabes nicht wie er-
wartet verstellen lässt, oder es Ihnen nicht mög-
lich ist, die Einstellungen präzise vorzunehmen,
dann sollten Sie es nicht mit Gewalt versuchen.
