NOTES FOR TABLE 2.1
1.MultiplytheMaximumContinuousRunningPowerRating(ActivePowerRatingin
Watts) of the appliance / device by the recommended Sizing factor to arrive at the
MaximumContinuousRunningPowerRatingoftheinverter.
2. for photographic strobe / flash unit, the Surge Power Rating of the inverter should be
> 4 times the Watt Sec rating of photographic strobe / flash unit.

Limiting electro-Magnetic
interference (eMi)
3.1 EMI AND FCC COMPLIANCE
These inverters contain internal switching devices that generate conducted and radiated
electromagnetic interference (EMI). The EMI is unintentional and cannot be entirely
eliminated. The magnitude of EMI is, however, limited by circuit design to acceptable
levels as per limits laid down in North American fCC Standard fCC Part 15(B), Class A.
These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference
when the equipment is operated in business / commercial / industrial environments.
These inverters can conduct and radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed
and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to
radio communications.
3.2 REDUCING EMI THROUGH PROPER INSTALLATION
TheeffectsofEMIwillalsodependuponanumberoffactorsexternaltotheinverter

andcablesetc.EMIduetofactorsexternaltotheinvertermaybereducedasfollows:
- Ensure that the inverter is firmly grounded to the ground system of the building or
the vehicle
- LocatetheinverterasfarawayfromtheEMIreceptorslikeradio,audioandvideo

- KeeptheDCsidewiresbetweenthebatteryandtheinverterasshortaspossible.
- DoNOTkeepthebatterywiresfarapart.Keepthemtapedtogethertoreducetheir

proves performance and efficiency.
- ShieldtheDCsidewireswithmetalsheathing/copperfoil/braiding:
-Usecoaxialshieldedcableforallantennainputs(insteadof300ohmtwinleads)
- Use high quality shielded cables to attach audio and video devices to one another
