9.1 SWITCHING THE INVERTER ON/OFF
Beforeswitchingontheinverter,checkthatalltheACloadshavebeenswitchedOFF.
The ON/Offswitch(1,Fig6.1)onthefrontpaneloftheinverterisusedtoswitchON
and switch Off the inverter. This switch operates a low power control circuitry, which in
turn controls all the high power circuitry. Optional Remote Control Model RC-15A may
also be used for ON/Off control.
!
CAUTION!
Please note that the ON/Off switch is not switching the high power battery
inputcircuit.PartsoftheDCsidecircuitwillstillbealiveevenwhentheswitch
is in the Offposition.Hence,disconnecttheDCandACsidesbeforeworking
on any circuits connected to the inverter.
When the inverter is switched ON,theGREEN"POWERON"LED(2,Fig.6.1)willbe
lighted.ThisLEDindicatesthattheinputsectionoftheinverterisoperatingnormally.

Switch on the AC load(s). The GREEN"POWERON"LED(2,Fig6.1)andtheindication
lightontheGFCIshouldremainlightedfornormaloperationoftheload.
9.2 POWERING ON THE LOADS
Aftertheinverterisswitchedon,ittakesafinitetimetobecomereadytodeliverfull
power. Hence, always switch on the load(s) after a few seconds of switching on the
inverter. Avoid switching on the inverter with the load already switched on. This may
prematurely trigger the overload protection.
When a load is switched on, it may require initial higher power surge to start. Hence, if mul-
tiple loads are being powered, they should be switched on one by one so that the inverter is
not overloaded by the higher starting surge if all the loads are switched on at once.
9.3 TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED COOLING FANS
2coolingfans(locatedbehindtheair-exhaustopenings6,Fig6.1)arethermostatically
controlled. Temperature of a critical hot spot inside the inverter is monitored to activate
the fans and the over temperature shut-down. When the temperature of this hot spot
reaches55°C±3°C,thefansareswitchedON. The fans will be automatically switched Off
oncethehotspotcoolsdownto45°C±3°C.Pleasenotethatthefansmaynotcomeonat
low loads or if the ambient temperature is cooler. This is normal.
9.4 INDICATIONS FOR NORMAL OPERATION

"Protections" and Section 11 "Troubleshooting Guide" for symptoms of abnormal operation.
