13 . Deposit a very thin layer of powder onto the printing plate by
moving the coater to the other far side of the module . Check
the layer thickness on the section of the build module between
the build shute and the feed shute, If the powder thickness is
not constant from the front to the back .The recoater must be
aligned, otherwise continue from step 16 .
14 . To align the coater, loosen the bolts on top and side (1) & (3)
of the coater bridge turn the excenter (2) on the side where
the powder layer was too thin or to thick to move the coater up
and down . Tighten the bolts on top and side again and deposit
another powder layer . Iterate these steps until the powder layer
height is constant from the front to the back .

15 . Check the powderlayer thickness on the printing plate . There
should be a thin layer (less than a mm) on the complete
printing plate . You should still be able to see the printing plate
trough the powder
To change the layer thickness move the build platform up a few
10’s of micrometers at a time. Try to not go to far up because
when the recoater scrapes on the build platform, the silicone
strip will get damaged and needs to be replaced .
16. Pictured here are examples of what’s good (2) and what’s considered not good (3).
