RS-232 / RS-422
The GMX 200 provides five bi-directional RS-232 serial interfaces (Ports 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) and one
bi-directional RS-422 serial interface (Port 4) for making optional connections to equipment. Refer to

for a list of preferred port configurations.
NOTE
Port 4 is a dual use port that can be used as either an RS-232 port or an
RS-422 port, but not both. If Port 4 is used as an RS-232 port, P2001-26
must be connected to P2001-9 and P2001-11 must be connected to
P2001-20. If Port 4 is used as an RS-422 port, P2001-29 must be
connected to P2001-9.

ARINC 429 (GMX 200 I/O only)
The GMX 200 I/O provides two ARINC 429 inputs and two ARINC 429 outputs. The configuration of
these ARINC 429 channels is done automatically when data sources are selected during system
configuration.
