BlUETOOTH
Bluetooth s a short-range rado frequency technology that connects devces
together for transmttng voce and data. The range s up to 10 metres, and
typcal applcatons are for connectng your phone to Bluetooth wreless
headphones and Bluetooth Global Postonng System (GPS) unts.
Bluetooth works by creatng a parng between two devces. Ths parng s
known as a ‘partnershp’. Ths partnershp exsts f the devces are moved out
of range of each other or even f the devces are swtched off. When the devces
are swtched back on or are moved nto range, they wll be connected wth each
other wthout needng to bond them agan.
Bluetooth has 3 modes: Off, On and Vsble. When the Bluetooth s Off, there s
no power to the Bluetooth rado and so t does not functon. When Bluetooth s
set to On, your devce wll be connected to the devces t s already bonded wth,
but new devices will not be able to find your device. In Visible mode your device
wll act as the On state, but t wll be also found by other devces and you wll
also be able to receve nformaton beng beamed to t.
Turn Bluetooth On and Off
On the Home screen, click Start > Settings > Connections > Bluetooth.
Select Menu > Turn on Bluetooth.
If you wish to allow this device to be seen by other Bluetooth devices, select Menu > Turn
on visibility.
You can also turn Bluetooth on and off using the Wireless Manager described later in
this manual.
To create a Bluetooth partnershp from your devce to another devce, ths
method can be used to connect a Bluetooth headset or GPS recever to
your devce.
Ensure that the two devces are wthn close range, your devce has Bluetooth
turned On and that the devce you wsh to connect to s n Dscoverable mode.
On the Home screen, click Start > Settings > Connections > Bluetooth.
