InTRODUCTIOn TO ACTIVESYnC AnD WInDOWS MOBIlE
DEVICE CEnTER
Your devce contans ActveSync software that allows you to create a
synchronsaton relatonshp between your moble devce and your PC. Ths
means that when your devce s connected to your PC, on whch you also have
synchronsaton software nstalled, data s shared between your devce and PC
accordng to your preferences. If you make a change n one place, the next tme
you connect your PC and devce together, the change s automatcally made to
the correspondng nformaton on the other machne. You may connect to your
PC usng a cable, or usng a Bluetooth connecton.
ActveSync acts as the gateway between your Mcrosoft Wndows powered PC
and Wndows Moble powered devce and allows you to synchronse Mcrosoft
Outlook information, Microsoft Office documents, pictures, music, videos and
applcatons to and from your devce.
In addton to synchronsng wth a desktop PC, ActveSync allows you to
synchronse Mcrosoft Outlook nformaton drectly wth Mcrosoft Exchange
Server 2003 and Mcrosoft Exchange Server 2007, so that you can keep your
e-mal, calendar data, tasks and contact nformaton updated wrelessly when
you’re away from your desktop or tablet PC.
ActveSync 4.5 also ncludes a troubleshooter utlty that scans your computer
and devce to dentfy problems and offers nformaton and correctve actons to
solve them.
That upon connecting the device, Windows Vista users will be prompted to download
Windows
Mobile Device Centre software and do not require ActiveSync on their PC.
