mechanical Procedures
Step 3: loosen Bracket Bolts on right and left side (see Figure 1-5).
Step 4: loosen Adjustment Bolts on right and left side (see Figure 1-6).
Step 5: place Belt gauge on Drive Belt (Figure 1-7).
Note: Suggested belt gauge is a Kent-Moore #BT-33-73-F.
Step 6: Tighten the adjustment bolts (see Figure 1-6) and watch the
gauge until it reads 110-120 pounds.
Note: The belt will stretch slightly after a short period of normal
operation. The tension should not go below 85 pounds.
Step 7: Retighten Bracket Bolts on right and left side (see Figure 1-5).
Step 8: place Belt gauge on Alternator Drive Belt (Figure 1-8).
Step 9: Tighten the Alternator Adjustment Bolt (see Figure 1-9) and
watch the gauge until it reads 50-60 pounds.
Note: The belt will stretch slightly after a short period of normal
operation. The tension should not go below 45 pounds.
Step 10: Reattach the Resistor Assembly and all covers securely.
